Welcome to Apley Holiday Cottages...

We offer two high quality self catering cottages. Linley Station (which easily achieved the coveted 5 star Visit Britain rating) is a former station on the Severn Valley Railway line which was closed in the 1960s. This holiday cottage has just been restored and offers accommodation for six people in three bedrooms. Forge Cottage (Visit Britain 4 star rating) was renovated in 2007 and offers accommodation for four people in two bedrooms.

Both cottages are close to the River Severn in an idyllic and peaceful rural location a few miles from the attractive market town of Bridgnorth.

They offer the opportunity for a relaxing weekend break or a longer stay. The cottages are ideal for walking with numerous public footpaths in the area. For cyclists the National Cycle Route 45 runs just outside the two cottages and allows easy cycling to Bridgnorth or the Ironbridge World Heritage site with its numerous museums. Bring your own bicycle or hire one from the Cycle Hub in Ironbridge.

For those wanting a fishing holiday, fishing is available on the River Severn - a permit for coarse fishing is included in the price of your holiday.

There are plenty of attractions in the area to keep even the most active holiday makers busy. Bridgnorth has the Severn Valley Railway with steam trains running along the beautiful Severn Valley. Ironbridge, the cradle of the industrial revolution, is a World Heritage side and has Blists Hill Victorian Town, Enginuity, Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Darby House, Jackfield Tile Museum, Coalport China Museum, the Museum of the Gorge, the Iron Bridge and Toll House, Broseley Pipeworks and the Tar Tunnel. There are several National Trust properties nearby including Dudmaston Hall, Benthall Hall and Attingham Park. The Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge are within easy reach being around 20 miles away. Cosford Aerospace Museum is also close by being within 10 miles of the cottage.

Many events take place in the area including the V Festival and Midland Game Fair at Weston Park in August and September respectively. The Cosford Airshow in June, various steam railway galas on the Severn Valley Railway and the Bridgnorth Jazz Festival in October.

Should you prefer not to cook on your vacation there are numerous pubs and restaurants nearby serving a wide variety of high quality food. The nearest is the Hundred House at Norton which prepares very good food and has regular gourmet evenings.

If you'd rather just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, you are coming to a place of which Griff Rhys Jones in his Rivers programme said "this is a complete rarity in Britain, if I listen really really hard I can just hear a noise which I think might be a road".

Whatever your reason for a visit to Apley Holiday Cottages you are sure to enjoy your stay in some of the best holiday accommodation in Shropshire.
